Restoration of Firearm Rights
North Carolina law prohibits any person who has been convicted of a felony to “purchase, own, possess or have in their custody, care or control” a firearm. This prohibition continues indefinitely and includes not only handguns, but also long guns such as shotguns and hunting rifles.
Thanks to the passage of recent legislation, a person convicted of a nonviolent felony who has completed his or her sentence at least twenty years ago may be eligible for the restoration of their firearm rights. Contact the attorneys at Moser, Garner, & Bruner, P.A. to discuss whether you may be able to get your firearms back.
